THE SHERER'S | MONTICELLO, IL WEDDINGS
I always say that I see something new, or learn about a new trend, at every single wedding I attend. Sarah & Nick’s wedding was no exception - and I absolutely loved it!
These two chose Allerton Park & Retreat Center to have their ceremony & reception, and I think it was the perfect spot for them. They wanted an intimate ceremony with mostly family and close friends, and the space provided was exceptional at achieving this goal. Allerton always does a beautiful job of setting up the space, and they did not disappoint this time either! It was very apparent when I arrived that Sarah, Nick and their families had thought of everything and made sure every single detail was taken care of to create a unified atmosphere - it was so awesome. They also kept everything surrounding THEM - Sarah & Nick - and their relationship. The coolest thing I saw was during their ceremony, when traditionally the couple lights a unity candle or pours sand to symbolize coming together as one - they tied a figure 8 knot with climbing ropes, as they love to rock climb. This particular knot is common for rock climbers as it helps with strength, stability and achieves this by tying two ropes together into one. It was one of the most common and strongest climbing knots.
The entire day was full of love, which is always awesome to be a part of and see with my own eyes. Unless you are a wedding photographer or another wedding vendor, you’ll never understand how amazing it is to be chosen to capture and be such an integral part of a couple’s wedding day. <3
I am so excited to share some of my favorites from their day, so get ready!!
