COFFEE TALK TUESDAY | What I Do in my "Spare Time"

I hate when people just throw in quotation marks around words willy nilly -- it drives me CRAZY!  I have no idea why.  I digress... my quotation marks serve a sort of "sarcastic" purpose.  :)  This post is intended to be somewhat informative for anyone who wants more of a glimpse into me, but also I've allowed my husband to photograph me for visuals on what I do in my spare time... which, quite frankly, isn't as often as I wish it was!!

So, let's get started.

First of all, again, I don't have a lot of spare time.  My calendar can look daunting at times... and then, of course, you mix in my son's calendar and my husbands... whew.  I'm glad that at this point in our lives we only have one kid because he really does not get to see his parents a super lot -- but we will talk about that in a later blog.  But when I do get some spare time, I use it and use it well...

SHOPPING!... okay, Target.

It's a big joke in my family and in my circle of close friends (and even co-workers) that I spend a good portion of my time at Target.  And it is VERY true.  So much that our family Christmas pictures for 2016 were actually IN our local Target store.  The store manager was so nice and accommodating and it couldn't have been more perfect of a setting!  I pretty much go there for everything except groceries -- and that's only because our Target does not have a full grocery store inside.  :) I am even raising my son to love the store as much as me!

NAPNAPNAPNAP. And Netflix.

Okay, so no one wants to see a picture of me napping and watching TV -- so I'll spare you on this one.  :) But it's totally true.  I am a total Netflix junkie who unapologetically binge watches the same shows on a rotating basis.  Let me explain -- about two weeks ago, I finished my second round of binge watching Parks & Recreation and I am now into my umpteenth round of Friends.  Once I'm done with Friends, I will either watch again OR go to The Office, Gilmore Girls, or The IT Crowd.  It's really hard to say.

Some people think I'm crazy for my rewatching habits, but I still find the episodes hilarious -- I still learn things from them, and sometimes I even catch something that I didn't see before.

And the nap thing... that is no joke.  If there was ever a competition for napping, I would be a strong candidate.  On any given day off from my 8-5 job, I get up in the morning only to slink myself downstairs to my chair or the couch and sometimes I continue to doze in and out of sleep until roughly 11.  If I don't do that, then once I am up in the AM I am awake long enough to get the kiddo down for a nap in the early afternoon and then I go to take a nap myself.

I LOVE NAPS.

Spend quality time with the kiddo!

Yes, I see my son every day of the week and spend time with him every day of the week.  Some days I get to spend intentional quality time with him, taking a walk and just talking or doing whatever his little heart desires!  I cherish these moments because I know he won't be little forever and hanging out with mommy won't be cool... so I will take what I can get!

A lot of the time, we do something artsy like paint rocks, water colors, chalk... and other times, it's as simple as walking around our house, picking up sticks and finding "flowers" (dandelions).

He's so much fun!

Date night... don't get too excited, this is very rare!

These are some fun shots from our last date night -- which fell on our 10 year anniversary.  I would say since we added our son to the family... we get a couple times a year max to go out for a night on the town.  It makes us appreciate the time together even more :)

And there you have it.  Yet another glimpse into my life.  I hope you have enjoyed reading as much as I enjoyed (and laughed) when getting this one ready for y'all!
