The Johnson's | Central IL Families

I was so excited with Michelle contacted me to document her family pictures!  I was even more thrilled when she told me she wanted to meet up at Allerton Park & Retreat Center in Monticello, IL!  It was one of the most beautiful locations within an hour driving distance from Decatur, which is where I am based!

The session was at 10am, which meant the sun was almost up all the way for the day -- which can be a little challenging for light purposes.  However, since I try to always arrive to a session about 30 minutes early so I can make sure my ideas will work out, I was still able to find the perfect location with a tree lined backdrop and lots of greenery!

I got to hang out with Michelle's parents, siblings and their significant others, her husband, daughter & nephew!  We had so much fun!  There were so many laughs, smiles, and the young kiddos were sooo good!  I look forward to photographing the kiddos in any of my family sessions because they always add an extra element of realism to my work -- I think anyone with kids knows exactly what I mean.  :)
