THE THERON'S | URBANA IL WEDDINGS
I knew from the moment Maria & Ray stepped in to Aroma Cafe in Champaign, IL for our initial bridal consult that we were going to get along swimmingly, but that their wedding day would be completely epic.
Let's start off by throwing out in the universe how beautiful of a person Maria is. I said it several times that day and it still holds true, she is by far one of the happiest people I've ever met in my life. I have never captured so many candid photos of a bride before this girl! And of course I can't forget about Ray. He is the most fun loving, kind and easy going guy we've had the pleasure of working with. My second photographer (and husband) who spent a good portion of the afternoon with him kept saying just how considerate he was of everyone around him - and it was HIS big day!
Now to the day of. The entire event was held at Hudson Farms in Urbana, IL. The property is absolutely stunning, and the owners keep every part of the property immaculate. It's like a photographer's playground! The ceremony took place in the barn, which was decorated completely rustic with a splash of unique and stunning florals, including the groom's requested flower called a King Protea. Why, you ask? It is the national flower of South Africa, where is family is from. The reception took place just a few steps away in the shed turned wedding reception hall. Everyone in attendance was kind, happy and welcoming. We left after the sparkler send off with many, many new friends. Oh, and did I mention Maria's custom wedding gown? I feel like there's a maximum amount of times I can say stunning in a blog post, but I'm lacking a different word that's more suitable!
I don't think I can ever thank Maria & Ray enough for choosing me to be their wedding photographer. It was a day I will never forget, and it was a huge honor to be apart of it!
