THE BLOMES | DECATUR IL WEDDINGS

When I think of the best way to describe Jessica & Alex's amazing wedding day, two very specific words come to mind:  Beautiful Hilarity.

It was an unseasonably warm Saturday for the beginning of June, but nothing was standing in then way of these two.  I met up with Jessica in the basement of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church in Decatur, IL where she was getting ready with her closest friends.  She was finishing up her love note to Alex as I walked in, and she just smiled up at me.  She was GLOWING.  There were many things going on, with bridesmaids getting their makeup done, anxious flower girls full of excitement running around with questions and giggles, and family arriving one at a time.

In the midst of all of this, Alex's best man Jesse came to deliver his love note - or should I say love NOTES.  The first note was in the tiniest of print, which made Jessica laugh.  The second note was the same as the first, just in more legible print.  :)  

The ceremony location in the sanctuary was incredible and ornate.  I would go as far as to say it took my breath away.  I am a sucker for grandiose fixtures and decor which shows years of love and holds memories within never to be uttered to a soul.  Family and friends entered the sanctuary, and watching their faces as they found their seats I knew I was in the presence of only the closest of people to Jessica & Alex.

Once the ceremony ended and they exited through the wall of bubbles, we headed over to Central Park where we took some took photographs of the bridal party at the Transfer House, which is a major landmark in Decatur.  Then, it was off to the reception at the Hickory Point Banquet Facility, where unmeasurable amounts of laughter took over, from the matrons of honor & groomsmen speeches to the tradition of the father of the groom and family busting a move on the dance floor.

The day as a whole was an absolute dream, and it was obvious by the expressions on their faces that Alex & Jessica were so overwhelmed with love and appreciation for all the generosity shown to them on their special day.  I know I was honored to be apart of it!
