WEDDING WEDNESDAY | Emily & Michael | Decatur IL Weddings
"Every once in a while, in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairytale." -Unknown
Emily & Michael's wedding day had been many years in the making. On top of the whole just being a couple thing, they were also building a house from the studs -- no, I'm serious! The house was nothing but bare bones -- a perfect canvas ready to take shape by the hands of these two lovebirds.
When I first met these two, there was an instant connection. I love that about my couples -- that instant spark where, as a photographer, you just know the relationship between you and your couple is going to leave a lasting imprint on your heart.
Michael has a heart for Emily unlike anything I have ever witnessed. He treats her truly like a princess, straight out of a child's fairytale. Spending time with them during their engagement session and even in our pre-wedding meetings, they reminded me that true love is still out there. Their love reminds me of a rare diamond -- perfect in clarity and color, with only the most beautiful of flaws causing fractals of light to radiate from just being in the same room as them.
From the moment I arrived at their home, still a work in progress, my jaw hit the floor. From the work they had done so far on the home to the amount of effort being put forth by every single person -- including Michael, on his wedding day. He worked tirelessly to make sure everything was up, running smoothly and put together before he came inside to get ready for the day. There were family members and friends working in the kitchen cooking the food for the evening, others outside getting the reception area staged. Someone finishing up flower arrangements, while others were just making sure the flow was moving in the right direction.
I can't say enough wonderful things about Emily & Michael and their special day. I don't want to tear up again -- because I have never cried so much at a wedding that wasn't my own (as I mentioned yesterday) -- but trust in knowing that the Kinnison's will forever hold, as I had determined more than a year ago, a very sacred place in my heart.
Enjoy some of my personal favorites from their big day... and once again, congratulations you two. Nothing but love to both of you.
